Businesses warned to protect their work
6th May 2008

Businesses in the Black Country are invited to find out how they can protect their creations of work and control how that work is exploited.

Intellectual Property expert Neil Forrest from Birmingham based solicitors Shakespeare Putsman LLP will give a talk at the next meeting of the Black Country branch of the UK IT Association (UKita) to be held on Friday 23rd May at the Wolverhampton Science Park 12-2pm.

Using practical examples, Neil will explain the four principle areas of Intellectual Property; exploitation of Intellectual Property in the software industry; data protection; and online selling of goods and services.

In addition, the West Midlands Business Council will give a brief presentation on how SMEs can get involved in business opportunities arising from the 2012 Olympic Games.

The event is free to members and £10.00 plus VAT for non-members and includes buffet lunch. Anyone interested in attending can register online at: http://www.ukita.co.uk/events/ProtectingYourBusinessIdeas
